Anna Collins, CC

*Accepting New Clients

Hi, I’m Anna Collins, a Certified Counselor with the state of Washington. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology/ Social Work from Grand Canyon University and a Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Gonzaga University. I work with children and adolescents to support them in working through challenges such as anxiety, emotional regulation, life transitions and self-esteem.

I feel grateful to have worked with youth in a variety of capacities, each experience deepening my understanding of their resilience, creativity and need for authentic connection. These qualities can be fostered through life experiences, but sometimes need a professional advocate, support and empathetic ear to create the environment in which they thrive. My past experiences include working with at-risk youth in public schools and nonprofit settings, and my current role is a mental health support and student advocate in the Lake Stevens School District. This role allows me to provide unique support to students by working through school avoidance, social anxiety, and peer pressure, as well as educational interventions that may empower or enhance a child’s 504 or IEP. I also facilitate Strengthening Families, a program through Washington State University which provides families with the opportunity to learn about healthy relationships, boundaries and communication skills while nurturing mutual empathy and promoting family well-being.

My practice is person-centered and solution-focused meaning your child will spend our time together learning about themselves through motivational interviewing and art work, what emotions they feel and how we can approach life’s challenges and cultivate resiliency rather than avoid. I am here to create a relationship with clients built on trust, empathy and commit to creating a supportive space where youth feel seen, heard and valued. I believe in guiding each client towards their individual goals, and building a space where growth and healing can happen at their own pace.
