Alexa Nachreiner

Clinical Counseling Intern

Hello!

I'm Alexa, a Clinical Mental Health Counseling student working toward my master's degree at Walden University. I obtained a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Western Washington University in 2019, where I developed a strong foundation in understanding human behavior and mental health.

With 6 years of experience in behavioral health, I have had the privilege of working in various roles, including as a case manager for intensive outpatient treatment, a crisis counselor for the regional mental health crisis line, and most recently as a training specialist for 988, the national suicide hotline. These experiences have deepened my understanding of individuals' diverse challenges, and I'm committed to supporting clients through a compassionate, skill-building approach.

I take a compassionate, trauma-informed, and holistic approach to counseling; blending cognitive-behavioral and humanistic techniques to support your unique journey. I aim to help you gain insight, build resilience, and shift unhelpful patterns while honoring your strengths and experiences. Together, we'll develop meaningful coping strategies to navigate life's challenges and empower you to create positive change as you explore your path toward wellness.

Outside of my studies and professional work, I enjoy spending time with loved ones, moving my body, and nourishing my mind. In whatever I am doing, I deeply value the importance of self-care and finding balance. I look forward to connecting with you and offering my support as you take the following steps.
